The new timeline functionality in POLAR allows users to see a patient’s history using a series of unique visualisations. “I have seen some attempts at this in the past” said, A/Prof Chris Pearce, “but nothing that comes close to giving me this kind of visual overview of a patient.”
The timeline is part of the new WALRUS suite of products that allows GPs to see individual patient information at the time of consultation. “The timeline is particularly useful for complex patients or for patients of other GPs in the practice where I don’t know the patient well.”
Lead designer Michael Browning said “The timeline created a lot of challenges, there is so much information that can be displayed, we really wanted to get the detailed information right, but also allow for a quick snapshot. To get around this we introduced the concept of a ‘detailed’ or ‘summary’ view which caters for both complex and more straight forward patients.”
