Outcome Health, a not-for profit data analytic organisation, has shown anxiety and depression medication rates have spiked during COVID-19.
It aggregates data from more than 1000 Australian general practices and recently compared an eight-week period last year with the same period this year.
While anti-anxiety drugs soared by up to 31 per cent, antidepressant prescriptions rose by double-figure percentages from 13 to 22 per cent for each of the eight weeks ending 6 June.
